About This Book
‘English is Funny’ is part of a continuing series of TESOL books designed to teach everyday English to ESL students. Learners of upper beginner level having some English vocabulary relating to very basic familiar items are delighted by humorous stories written in Limerick form about ‘real life’ situations that everyone can relate to. This use of humor entices the student to want to learn more and get involved in the learning process. Each story has three corresponding worksheets which have been compiled into a separate workbook that can be used by students learning at home or by an ESL teacher as part of an in-class English language program. Each learning activity has suggestions to aid the Teacher in drawing out students into meaningful communication through use of the Listening and Speaking skills. The activities have been designed in such a way that students are taught not only English vocabulary but also age and level appropriate concepts that prepare them for task’s that will be necessary in everyday life such as; Multiple choice questions, Mind maps, True and False questionnaires and many, many more. The worksheets and activities encourage student creativity and enjoyment while implementing traditional and non- traditional language functions. This ebook comes with a separate workbook which may be printed.
